Arrive at Budapest International Airport, where a Transcend Cruises representative will warmly welcome you and assist with your included airport transfer to The Gentleman, your luxurious floating home for the week.
From midday, guests may arrive at the ship to drop off luggage and begin their embarkation experience. Enjoy a welcome lunch onboard, then take the afternoon to relax, settle into your stateroom once available, or begin exploring Budapest independently.
In the early evening, gather in the Forum for a safety and welcome briefing, followed by a welcome cocktail reception. The evening continues with a festive Welcome Dinner in the restaurant, marking the official start of your journey.
Later, enjoy a memorable “Budapest by Night” sailing, offering breathtaking views of the city’s illuminated landmarks — a magical first glimpse of this grand European capital. The ship remains overnight in Budapest.
Enjoy breakfast onboard before setting out on a guided panoramic tour of Budapest, discovering the architectural beauty of both Buda and Pest. Travel along the Danube past grand boulevards and iconic landmarks, with a photo stop at Heroes’ Square, before continuing on foot through the historic Buda Castle District. Highlights include Matthias Church and Fisherman’s Bastion, offering sweeping views over the city.
Return to the ship for lunch, then continue your cultural journey with an exclusive afternoon visit to the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music, one of Europe’s most prestigious conservatories. Enjoy private access to its elegant Art Nouveau interiors, followed by an intimate student concert, showcasing Hungary’s next generation of musical talent.
This evening, gather onboard for a cocktail hour and dinner, followed by a vibrant Hungarian folklore performance in the lounge. Late tonight, the ship departs Budapest and begins its scenic sailing along the Danube.
Awaken to a peaceful morning on the Danube and enjoy a leisurely breakfast onboard, with time to relax as the ship arrives in Bratislava, Slovakia’s charming capital.
This afternoon, set out on a guided exploration of the city’s highlights. Travel first to Bratislava Castle, dramatically positioned above the river, where sweeping panoramic views stretch across the Danube and into neighboring Austria and Hungary. Continue with a relaxed walking tour through the Old Town, wandering pastel-hued streets, lively squares, and medieval lanes as your guide shares stories of coronations, royal routes, and everyday life through the centuries.
Return to the ship in the early evening for dinner onboard. Later tonight, we depart Bratislava and continue our scenic journey along the Danube toward Vienna.
Awaken in Vienna, the imperial capital where history, art, and music come together in timeless style. After breakfast onboard, set out on a guided panoramic tour along the elegant Ringstrasse, passing landmarks such as the Hofburg Palace, Parliament, and the Vienna State Opera.
Your morning includes a guided visit inside the Vienna State Opera House, one of the world’s most celebrated venues for classical music, offering insight into Vienna’s rich musical legacy and architectural grandeur.
Return to the ship for lunch before continuing your cultural exploration in the afternoon with a visit to the Albertina Museum. Housed in a historic palace near the State Opera, the Albertina is home to one of the world’s most important graphic art collections, alongside masterpieces by artists such as Monet, Picasso, and Klimt.
This evening, enjoy dinner onboard as The Gentleman remains docked in the heart of Vienna, leaving time to stroll the city center or experience Vienna by night at your leisure.
Awaken to one of the most beautiful stretches of the Danube as The Gentleman glides through the Wachau Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape known for terraced vineyards, charming riverside villages, and hilltop castles. Enjoy live commentary from the top deck as the scenery unfolds — the Danube at its most romantic.
After lunch onboard, arrive in Melk and travel into the heart of Wachau wine country for an exclusive visit to Domäne Wachau (or similar), one of Austria’s most prestigious wine estates. Tour the winery and cellars before enjoying a guided tasting of regional wines, including Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, set against the valley’s stunning backdrop.
Return to the ship in the early evening and enjoy dinner onboard as we depart Melk and continue our journey toward Linz.
After breakfast, depart by coach for a full-day excursion to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and the iconic setting of The Sound of Music. En route, stop in the picturesque village of Mondsee to visit the Basilika St. Michael, famous as the filming location of the movie’s wedding scene. Enjoy a short organ concert followed by a Sekt reception inside the church.
Continue to Salzburg for a guided Sound of Music walking tour, exploring key filming locations while discovering the city’s rich musical heritage and charming historic streets. Lunch is included at a traditional Austrian restaurant, offering a relaxed taste of local cuisine.
After some free time to explore Salzburg independently, return to Linz in the early evening. Dinner is served onboard as the ship remains docked overnight.
Today, travel by coach into the heart of Bohemia to explore Český Krumlov, a fairy-tale medieval town and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover its winding cobblestone streets, colorful Renaissance façades, and the dramatic castle complex overlooking the Vltava River.
Your guided walking tour includes a visit to the town’s remarkable Baroque Theatre, one of the best-preserved historic theaters in Europe. Lunch is included at a traditional local restaurant, followed by free time to explore the Old Town at your own pace.
Return to the ship in the late afternoon. This evening, gather onboard for a farewell reception and gala dinner, celebrating the journey and new friendships made along the Danube. Late tonight, The Gentleman departs Linz as your voyage enters its final chapter.
Arrive in Passau, the picturesque “City of Three Rivers,” where the Danube, Inn, and Ilz meet beneath pastel-colored baroque spires. After breakfast, bid farewell to The Gentleman and the dedicated crew who have welcomed you aboard throughout your journey.
Guests departing today will be transferred to the airport for onward flights. Those joining our Optional Prague Post-Cruise Extension will continue by motorcoach to the Czech capital to begin the next chapter of their European experience.
